Our reation is no different from any other funder . We see that you have not looked carefully at our website . To find out it have funds and ,it so how We allocate them . You have not bothered to write to an individual among us and checked Whether they are Woman or man .
We have no idea if you are just one person and a cat ; or perheps you are aproper organisation have you helped many people with good projects or nobody at all ? You tell us nothing of the project for with you want funing and the experties that would make the project work . And you show no passoion, no enthusism .Even in a very short email not more than two thirds of a page .You could have said all this and have said all you need to say.
We Would guess that you have sent exact the same email to 50 addresses .So it is a little insulting .You did not spend fifteen minutes on our organisation before Writing to us And in Six months time , When you skills are more Refined And you write a more professional email to us . During the proccess We describe have , we followed the llines of the ‘ Guide to Fundraising ‘ which both of us helper to studing the guide is the first step .
Our of the Network learning Group is Mrs fadumo alin , Who runs an Ngo in somaliland doss of hope .the country is post civil war so has a lot of landmines .the fundation runs a micro -finance project a Braille school for blind chind childern and young people and a rehabilition centre for people who need prothess physoiotherapy, wheet chairs etc , Fadumo has successfully raised money to run these programmes for the medium term. Long term is more difficalt . A small group of boys and young men are now seeking help because they have loat their eyesight and their hands through landmines. So We stared looking for fun for this small group .with a lot of discussion wit h the field office we wrotea project proplosal and this took time and effort . Then we wrote a half pag email for each proposal and this took time and effort . Then We wrote a helf page email for each possible funding sokurce , the explained the problem ,made clear that the organisation was already running project effectively , and asked if the funding agency could seriously consider the proposal if we sent it to them .the funding ageneies were fund through a Google search of the web using keywords such as ‘multiple disabilyt y ‘ and landmies”
we then looked at the websites of each to see if they worked in somaliand many do not .We found about thirty possible funders to whom we sent the email . Most did not reply . Some said they were not able to consider our proposal for various reasons two expressed interest an d we sent them the proposal .So far we have not heard whether We are successful or not /
Mean while we are exploring other ways to raise mony . These include whether items could be manufactured in somaliand and shipped to europe for sale .We have identifie a possible sales outlet for specifie leather goods.
Sponsorship of individual boys .We have So fan fund one difinite sponsor and will be putting fliers up in the local mosques the hope of finding more . Ways of using the web to raise funds from expatriats somali communities .this process has take about eight months so far . If is frustrating and energy consuming for every one involved .but on the other hand , Fadumo went through the same thing severel times , found the money for her existing project and is helping her community every day .So we wish you lots of energy , determination and good luck.
